Why we should neuter our pet is often a topic, even during a friendly conversation if we have pets. Misconceptions often have a big impact on our world and animal reproduction.

Many unwanted kittens are born every day. These kittens are either killed or end up in the trash. Many people put kittens in boxes on the street, torn from their mothers at an early age, just because nobody needs these little lives. Animal rescuers are only able to take in a very small part of these discarded kittens and save them from certain death. In addition, half of these rescued kittens do not survive the first few weeks.

For females, it is painful to be in heat. Female cats don’t cry so much because they want to mate. This is a painful process just like it is with their fellow mammals, us humans. Cats don’t enjoy the mating process, nor do they enjoy giving birth, in factm many of the female kittens die during. It is also a misconception that you have to wait for sterilization before they become active. It is an even bigger misconception that a kitten must be born once before it is neutered.

If you want to read more about sterilization, you can do so in our previous post.

Be a responsible pet owner and sterilize your pet!
