Welcome, dear Visitor, to the Bird Friendly Nature Trail in Göd! Our focus is on the various bird protection tools and the animal species that can be supported with them, but we also added a few non-bird stations to our walk. We present artificial breeding dens, medicinal and poisonous plants and mushrooms typical of the area, as well as some nature conservation tools with which we can help other animal species, mammals, reptiles, bees and wasps. From the majority of our bird photos, it can be said that not only the specific species, but also the individual in the picture is a local specimen. We wish you a meaningful walk, many species observations and a recharge rich in experiences for the nature trail!
Why are artificial den colonies important? Different bird species have different nesting habits. Some of them nest in underground cavities or on shorelines, others hide on the ground, under the cover of dense vegetation, and others prefer the thickets of shrubs or the rich canopies of trees. There are those who build on the forks of the tallest trees, and there are also those who find their homes on high rock ledges or even in nooks and crannies. Among the many different breeding and chick-rearing strategies, we can find bird species that can safely nest in the hollows and hollows of old trees. However, with our changing world, the old forests that were once home to many, (hollows in trees created by woodpeckers and fungi) have unfortunately declined significantly, narrowing and making it difficult for several species of birds to breed, reproduce and survive. Although we cannot turn back the wheel of time, we can help protect a bird species that is dear to us or important to us with artificial breeding nests imitating tree birds that provide security.

We would like to thank all our supporters for their help – the Bird-Friendly Educational Trail in Göd would not have been possible without them:
TESCO’s “You choose, we help” program, the main supporter of the project, for financial support of 200,000 Ft
Municipality of Göd for the possibility of using the area,
The hundreds of hours of volunteer work of all our civilian helpers, who donated their free time with transport, DIY, placing the elements, and with their photographic, graphic and web editing support, made it possible for the idea to become a reality.
The nature trail is created and maintained by the Minden Állatért Foundation. Everyone can visit the educational trail at their own risk.
