The sexually mature males want to run away from home, and the females often meow after them in a desperate voice. It is better for us, but also for our little pet, if we sterilize them. How and why? Let’s see!

Tomcats tend to mark their territory after reaching the sexualy active stage. In this case, they spray different parts of the apartment with a pungent smell, full of hormones, which is not easy to bear, but it is even more difficult to eliminate the smell.

After neutering, with the elimination of hormones, this habit ceases or is reduced to a minimum, and the smell of urine also changes.

The tomcats look for the opportunity to find a molly, so they tend to sexually escape from home and only come back after a few days or weeks (or never), and full of wounds acquired in fights with other tomcats, picking up potentially fatal infections (the as a result of mating or fighting, they can easily become infected with FIV or FeLV viruses, which are currently incurable). No owner would wish that for their kitten, nor for the future kittens who might not even survive the first week fo their lifes.

In the case of tomcats, neutering does not predispose the cat to urinary tract diseases. If these reasons were not enough, let us state that it is a scientifically proven fact that castration reduces the risk of cancerous and inflammatory diseases of the uterus, as well as the development of breast tumors.

Be a responsible pet owner and sterilize your pet!
